Obsidian

Documentation

From raw to refined

Everything you need to forge your first vault with Obsidian — from account creation to document destruction.

Quick Start

Forging your first vault

01

Create an account

Sign up with your email address and password. No credit card is required to enter the forge.

02

Load the furnace

Navigate to Billing and top up your prepaid balance using Visa or Mastercard. The minimum top-up is $5.00. Your balance fuels GPU compute time.

03

Forge a vault

Click "New Vault" from your dashboard. Give it a name, choose a use case preset, and configure your security level. A dedicated GPU instance will provision in approximately 60 seconds.

04

Mine and smelt

Drag and drop your documents into the vault. Chat with the AI to analyze, summarize, extract data, and generate reports. All processing happens on your dedicated GPU — no data leaves the crucible.

05

Shatter when done

When you are finished, destroy the vault. The GPU instance is terminated and all data is permanently obliterated. The glass shatters. This action is irreversible.

Analysis

The smelting process

Once your documents are loaded into the crucible, you interact with them through a natural language chat interface. The AI model running on your dedicated GPU processes your questions and generates responses based solely on the content of your uploaded documents.

Each vault comes with a use case preset that configures the system prompt for your specific workflow — legal review, financial analysis, medical records, HR compliance, due diligence, or general analysis. You can also provide a custom system prompt to temper the model to your exact needs.

The AI can summarize documents, extract specific data points, compare multiple documents, flag risks or issues, construct timelines, and generate structured reports. All responses include citations referencing the source document and page.

Editing

Faceting the glass

Obsidian includes a built-in document viewer that allows you to review your uploaded documents alongside the AI chat. You can view PDFs, images, and text-based documents directly in the workspace.

For text-based documents, you can make edits directly within the viewer. Changes are saved to your vault instance. Remember that all data, including edits, is permanently destroyed when the vault is shattered.

Billing

The cost of forging

Obsidian uses a prepaid balance model with no subscriptions. Load your furnace with credit using Visa or Mastercard, then spend it on raw GPU compute.

GPU time is billed per minute at the hourly rate for your chosen model tier. Your balance decreases in real-time as your vault runs. When your balance is insufficient, the vault auto-pauses — the flame goes out, but the glass remains intact until you relight or shatter.

You can view your current balance, transaction history, and usage breakdown from the Billing page in your dashboard. For more details, see our Pricing page.
